PRIMSetu writes about regulation that affects people's money. This page explains how we make sure what we publish is accurate, current and fair.
Sources
- Primary sources first. Every rule we describe comes from a SEBI regulation, circular, board-meeting press release, FAQ or consultation paper. We link to the source in the text.
- Proposals are labelled as proposals. Where something comes from a consultation paper or board decision and is not yet in force, we say so.
- Pending details are flagged. Where SEBI has said it will specify details later (for example PRIM's operating circular), we say what is still unknown rather than guess.
How a piece is made
- Research from primary sources
- Draft in plain language — drafts may be prepared with AI assistance
- Review by a person against the sources before publishing
- Regulatory and tax pieces get an additional check by someone with compliance or tax expertise
- Every guide shows the date it was last updated
Translations
Pages in Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada are first translated by machine and marked as such. A fluent reviewer then checks each page; once reviewed, the notice is removed. If a translation and the English version differ, the English version is correct. Legal pages (privacy, terms, disclaimer) are in English only.
Independence
- We don't give investment advice or recommend schemes, portfolios or managers
- The directory lists every SEBI-registered portfolio manager neutrally (alphabetically or by distance). There is no paid placement or ranking
- Content provided by firms on their own listing is labelled "Provided by the firm"
- We plan to offer software to PRIM managers in future; that does not influence our guides or the directory
Updates
When SEBI issues anything relevant to PRIM, we update the affected guides and add an entry to the regulation tracker. We review every guide at least once a quarter.
Corrections
If you spot an error, tell us through the contact page (choose "Correction"). We aim to check reports within two working days. Material corrections are noted at the end of the guide with the date.
